PCC Homes - Independent Living in Sheltered Housing Apartments 

Sheltered housing is a solution for people who want to live independently in a small community, in a smaller and easier to manage home, who like the idea of having someone to call on if there is an emergency. Sheltered housing differs from other types of housing because of the presence of a Scheme Manager who lives nearby.  PCC schemes provide 24-hour emergency assistance through an alarm system. PCC’s Scheme Managers keep in regular contact with residents to provide support when required in emergencies and act as a facilitator for care services, and deal with housing issues.

NB:  Scheme Managers are not there to provide 'care' for residents, or to carry out tasks like shopping and cleaning.  However, they are there to advise on or help arrange these things.

Our apartments offer a friendly and safe environment with the opportunity, if desired, of enjoying company and sharing community activities. The popularity of the accommodation is indicated by the fact that in 2008 we had near 100% occupancy.

PCC Homes operates two modern purpose built sheltered housing complexes.  The apartments are offered unfurnished and residents are invited to bring their own furniture and personal possessions. Each apartment is fitted out to a very high standard with a wet room and a fully equipped kitchen with units that adjust to a comfortable height.

A large residents’ lounge and an attractive conservatory is available at both locations plus a recreation room, communal kitchen, laundries and fully maintained gardens.
