What is the Printers' Charitable Corporation?
The Printers' Charitable Corporation (PCC) is the leading charity delivering active support for current and previous employees of the printing industry. We give financial assistance to those who need extra support in their time of need. We also extend this vital help to any dependent family members.
The PCC was set up in 1827 and our charity continues to be as relevant today as it was back when Charles Dickens was President. We operate four key service areas and would strongly encourage anyone with connections to the print trade to contact us to see if we can help you.
1) PCC Help
2) PCC Homes
3) PCC Links
4) PCC Future
PCC Helps: We made over 300 grants last year through our grants programme. We are able to provide grants for individual projects/items, grants towards special holidays, as well as for regular items such as top-up fees for residential care home fees.
PCC Homes delivers our own housing solutions for older people who need either extra support or care. All Residents benefit from a high level of subsidy towards the ongoing running costs and fees.
In Basildon, Essex we run a modern sheltered housing scheme for 40 residents. In Bletchley, Buckinghamshire, we operate a further 32 apartments. Both these schemes promote independent living with communal facilities, lounges and have an experienced scheme manager to help give Residents peace of mind.
PCC Homes also operates a 40 nursing home in Bletchley. This care home operates primarily for the benefit of ex-employees of the printing industry but is also open to local people who want to benefit from the warmth, professionalism and dedication of PCC’s care staff.
PCC Links is an exciting project for the PCC. Our vision is to grow the charity substantially. In simple terms we wish to help more people and offer them a wider range of services and opportunities. Through developing links with industry and other charities PCC Links will be able to offer services that we could not operate on our own. This provides value for money for all concerned and helps meet the needs of ex-industry workers and their families
PCC Future: The PCC is a Registered Charity with an esteemed history. In the early 1980’s we benefited from a generous bequest in recognition of the good work that we do. Through prudent investment we have secured ourselves a sound future. In recent years we have benefited from this investment and have been able to increase our services.
The PCC has ambitious plans and PCC Future is about ensuring that we continue to have the resources to meet our needs and vision for the future.
To continue our long tradition of service, we need your help by:
- Referring our services to anyone you know with a connection to the print trade.
- Making a donation
- Remembering us in your Will.
