Butlin House Care Home in Bletchley celebrates the 20th anniversary of its opening by Diana, Princess of Wales
Butlin House Care Home was the setting for a very special event on Bank Holiday Monday to mark the 20th anniversary of its official opening by Diana, Princess of Wales.
Residents of Butlin House and neighbouring Beaverbrook Court were joined by family, friends, volunteers, staff and their families for an afternoon of celebration.
In honour of the occasion, the Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes, Councillor Debbie Brock, planted a rose in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales. It was only her third event as the new Deputy Mayor and she described it as having a “fabulous atmosphere”.
Our residents and their guests enjoyed a singalong and dance, accompanied by two local performers, Martin Reeves playing acoustic guitar with vocals by Maggie May. The afternoon’s programme was rounded off with a teatime buffet.
Sue Bradley, Acting Home Manager at Butlin House, says: “Residents told us they wanted to do something special for our 20th anniversary. With just over 80 people attending, it was the best event we’ve ever held at Butlin House. Residents’ families have been calling to thank us for such a warm, welcoming and family-orientated afternoon.”
Butlin House is a 40-bed care home for people who have worked in the printing industry but it also welcomes residents without a print connection. To find out more, call us on 01293 542 820.
